SCHOENSTATT


Schoenstatt, part of the town of Vallendar near Koblenz, Germany, is the world center of origin and International Schoenstatt Movement .

Daily pilgrims come from around the world to the 'Shrine' center as both Schoenstatt Marian place of pilgrimage, and the Apostolic Movement Schoenstatt, which owns more than 20 independent communities.

People Schoenstatt seeks and finds in counseling, home and renewed strength to live their faith in daily life and shape the world with the love of Jesus.

Schoenstatt originated with the covenant of love with the Blessed Virgin, whom the Father Kentenich (1885 - 1968) sealed for the first time on 18 October 1914.

Kentenich Father spent several years in the Dachau concentration camp and his love for the Church was severely tested in times of lack of understanding towards new trends hierarchical spiritual life.

died on September 15, 1968 in the Adoration Church on Mount Schoenstatt. There is now grave.

Along and across the world today there are about 200 centers Schoenstatt Movement, whose main point is the Shrine, a replica of the small Shrine located in the valley of Schoenstatt. Through Pilgrim join today to Schoenstatt several million people in over 110 countries on 5 continents.
